SmartKISH innovative project

We are proud to announce that our company has successfully completed a unique and innovative project in collaboration with a group of postgraduate students who approached us with the idea of creating a device for fermenting vegetables and fruits.

The idea originated as part of the thesis project “Fermentation 2.0 with SmartKISH”, within the postgraduate program “ESG Perspective. Responsible and Sustainable Management” at Kozminski University in Warsaw. The group’s goal was to create a product or service based on the principles of sustainable development.
The food industry is responsible for a significant share of greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and waste generation. Therefore, implementing sustainable practices—such as reducing food waste—is crucial. The SmartKISH fermentation device demonstrates that technological innovation can go hand-in-hand with care for the planet and people, offering solutions that not only respond to market needs but can genuinely help change the world for the better.
SmartKISH automates and simplifies the fermentation process, making it more appealing and accessible to today’s consumers. Fermentation is an efficient, natural, and low-emission method of food preservation that supports the idea of reducing food loss. It allows for the use of less aesthetically pleasing fruits and vegetables. Fermented foods, in turn, are natural probiotics that support digestive and immune health. Our company’s Technologist, Mr. Jerzy Sekuła, took an active role in the project. Thanks to his knowledge and the experience of the dedicated team he assembled, a prototype of the fermentation vessel was developed in a short time. SmartKISH is an innovative device that features functionalities not used in any other existing solution, ensuring the expected results of the fermentation process!
Under Mr. Sekuła’s supervision, the first test fermentation of a vegetable mix was conducted. The entire process lasted six days, after which a larger group of people was invited for a tasting session. Everyone agreed that the vegetables were crunchy and firm. And since many attendees asked for seconds, we can safely say the fermentation process was a complete success.

The prototype was also very warmly received by a wider audience invited to the final presentation of the thesis project.

This confirmed for us that it is worthwhile to support initiatives—especially those aligned with a strategy of responsible and innovative growth.
The collaboration with the student project group showed how much can be achieved by combining academic knowledge with industrial practice. Initiatives like this not only inspire us to act but also allow us to create solutions that truly reflect ESG values—reducing environmental impact, promoting innovation, and supporting the development of future leaders’ skills.
